Since the hockey is currently on its summer holidays I thought I’d share some of the pups that I’ve enjoyed meeting at the side of the pitch over the last couple of seasons. I used to love meeting the furry friends and will probably do this a lot more often next season, might even open it up to fan submissions! Who knows…

Name: Buzz

Breed: Shih Tzu

Loves: Mossley HC Men’s 3s

Hates: Kilkeel HC Men’s 2s

Love this wee dude and he will always go down as the original hockey pup. The big winter coat he had on was amazing too, that pop of red! Must be Moncler.

Name: Lola

Breed: Bernese Mountain Dog

Loves: NICS HC Men’s 1s

Hates: Mossley HC Men’s 1s

Such a beautiful dog.

Name: Sully

Breed: Unknown

Loves: Belfast Harlequins HC Men’s 2s

Hates: NICS HC Men’s 2s

In his early days, Sully was a street dog in Spain so the official breed is unidentifiable, however he “looks lurcher-y” according to his human companion. Pretty cool story that I loved hearing!

Name: Molly

Breed: Sprocker Spaniel

Loves: NICS HC Men’s 1s

Hates: Bangor HC Men’s 1s

Season ticket holder at NICS Men’s 1s is our Molls so I’m sure she’s fairly depressed at the moment with the relegation last season. Plenty of optimism from her for next year though!

Breed: Short-haired Dachshund

Loves: South Antrim HC Men’s 1s

Hates: NICS HC Men’s 1s

This kid had ants in his pants and absolutely loved the South. I think he’s had a stadium ban few times due to his pyrotechnic habits. Pups like Frankie make the sport what it is. He was also sporting great Barbour quilted jacket. Hope he doesn’t rip it in his fights.
