Ah Wimbo. The two weeks in the year where everyone pretends they know what they’re talking about when it comes to tennis. Luckily for you, I will not be pretending I know tennis but I will be unpretending that I know fashion.
I watch the tennis for three reasons; the well-dressed posh people, to see pots of strawberries & cream and to clap along to the Hawkeye in-or-out decisions. So without further ado, here are my best dressed men at Wimbledon 2024.
5. Ncuti Gatwa
Never heard of the bloke but he pulled off a lovely pinstripe suit to watch the tennis. Great tassel loafers and signet ring on his pinky to top it off. only thing is I am not 100% certain on the striped shirt with the striped suit but hey that’s why he’s 5th, room for improvement.

4. Roger Federer
Form is temporary, class is permanent. This man delivers every time. A man as reliable and gorgeous as this id let him father my twins. A nice Wimbledon coloured Rolex Datejust (hard to see) for a touch of class.

3. Ben Stokes
As the old saying goes ‘a bat is a bat’ and this cricketer showed up for some serious tennis. I am a sucker for a beige coloured suit in summer I am also a sucker for wide-peaked lapels and I am also for double breasted jackets so Stokeys really knows me here. Looks like a Role Day-Date on his wrist and his blue-tinted tortoise shell shades are phenomenal too. I would say he has the best accessories on this list. Minus points for the tie that hasn’t been tied with any flare, very school-boy and I personally wouldn’t button the bottom left button (as you look at it) on a double breasted jacket.

2. David Beckham
Need I justify this man being so high up the list? His fashionable greatness is more well documented than any other human on this planet. Again my heart strings are pulled with the beige colour in the summer, a good dimple in the tie and nice shades. Finished lovely with the contrasting blues between the shirt and the pocket square.

1. Will Gao
Much like Ncuti, I’d never heard of this bloke but by golly he can dress. His suit jacket does everything for me as Stokes’s does. I love the green look as much as the beige one and on tv I have only ever seen Ian Wright pull it off before. The key difference between Ben and Will is that Will unbuttoned that bottom left button I was speaking of. It’s the fine margins in this game, if Will and Ben swapped outfits I’d still pick Will because it’s not what he wears it how he wears it. He ties his tie with a dimple (unlike Ben) and he buttons his jacket correctly. The colours work great together and I love the pop of orange in the tie. Tassel loafers on the feet can never be beaten in the warmer months either. Game, set, match & championship, Will Gao!
